Once Upon a Time, I Actually Liked John McCain

Whatever happened to the guy who ran for president in 2000? The red-meat Republican running around these days who's calling himself McCain sure doesn't sound like the same man who charmed us eight years ago. It's like he's forgotten who he was and what he said he stood for. The kindest spin I can put on that is, he must be getting old...

yeah, i used to like him too--i even put up with him endorsing Bush in 2004, because i figured it was simply impossible for him not to.

but he's so disingenuous now that i can't stand to listen to him. same goes for those two morons he has speaking for him, phil "its all in your mind" gramm, and carly "let 'em eat cake" fiorina.

ugh.

Once upon a time, I respected him. This is the guy whom John Kerry considered for the VP spot just four years ago.

More so than old age, it's called selling out. Ambition does that to a person. Like most things in life, too much of something isn't good for you, and ambition is a great example.
